When Should I Send Out My Wedding Stationery?
It can be a little tricky trying to figure out when to send or mail out your wedding stationery, but it doesn’t have to be. Read the following to figure out when to do so for your big day.
7 to 9 Months Out - Design & Order Save The Dates
You may not be considering Save the Dates as part of your Wedding Stationery, but it’s a good way to keep your guests informed of your big day. You can also use the opportunity to show off your beautiful engagement photos!
6 to 8 Months Out - Send Out Save The Dates
Depending on where your guests live in proximity to your location, you can decide within the 6-8 month mark from your wedding day when to mail your save the date cards. 6 months is the recommended least amount of time to send your save the date cards in order to give your guests plenty of notice.
2 to 3 Months Out - Design & Order Wedding Invitations
It does take some time to design wedding invitations because they can be very intricate depending on your taste and the look you are hoping to achieve. So I like to give enough buffer time and recommend to clients to begin designing and ordering their invitations earlier rather than later.
6 to 8 Weeks Out - Send Out Wedding Invitations
While six to eight weeks may not seem like enough time, we have found that it’s actually the perfect amount of time to mail out your invitations. This is because if you send them further out than eight weeks, guests may discard the invitation or forget altogether because it was too far out. If you have sent a Save The Date card, then your guests will already have your wedding date on their radar and will be expecting an invitation. This also means your guests will need to RSVP and send in their meal selections if applicable, and the six to eight weeks gives your guests that slight “push” to reserve their attendance quickly.
