Another throwback for the books! My best friend’s very own wedding! Now you can imagine my delight when she asked me to be her Maid of Honor - of course I was going to say yes! Our friendship started back in 1995 (oh - em - gee!) when we met at a birthday party. She was being her super tomboy-ish self wearing what we call these days an “ugly sweater” and some checkered leggings (which are probably back in style now BTW!) and I was being the girly self my mom wanted me to be in wearing a poofy dress (insert eye roll emoji here). She also happened to ask me to plan her wedding day which was also a HUGE honor in itself.
Her wedding day was amazing! As you can see from the photos, her favorite color is Purple so we decked out the ballroom for the Reception with purple linens, chair covers, cake accents and more. But we kept her Ceremony more neutral and left purple only at the Gazebo Arch which I thought was the perfect touch. For table numbers, instead of using actual numerals, the couple decided to use destinations around the world which I thought was such a great idea! The groom who is an avid break dancer had a special performance planned for her, which came out so so so good. I know I’ve got a video somewhere. I will share it on my IG one of these days! It was a beautiful day filled with so much love.
So I certainly had my hands full from planning the Bridal Shower and the Big Day. But it was an experience I will never forget. And to see my BFF marry the love of her life and shine bright on her Wedding Day brought me so much joy. If you do what you love (especially for those you love), you’ll never be let down.
