Romantic Villa Del Sol D'Oro Wedding | Sydney and John
Sydney & John’s Villa Del Sol D’Oro Wedding was filled with love, romance and plenty of tear-jerking moments throughout the day.
Upstairs in the Bridal Suite, Sydney’s getting ready routine for the day included 7 of her best gals by her side with champagne in hand. This made for some adorable and fun photos (and tik-toks!). Her strapless and gorgeous A-Line wedding dress was just one of three different outfits she’d don on her big day, each for a different part of the day. I especially loved the sweet moments our photo team captured of her mom helping her into her wedding dress.
While the girls did their thing, the guys did their thing in the Library Bar while all dressed and ready to go. John - dressed sharply in his black tuxedo and suede loafers - was happy to imbibe some pre-ceremony drinks of their own with his best guys before doing his first look with his bride.
We could feel the electricity in the air as we prepared the couple for their First Look. John was eager to see Sydney for the first time in the day and lay eyes on his soon-to-be wife. Sydney was bubbling with excitement as she was staged just behind her soon-to-be husband. The second John turned around to see her, his excitement manifested into tears of joy seeing what could only be described as the first day of the rest of his life. Sydney smiled the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on her, and quietly comforted her groom as they continued taking pictures. I can easily say it was one of the best First Looks I’ve ever witnessed in my career.
While the couple continued with pre-ceremony portraits, our vendor team was busy with final preparations before starting the day. Guests were welcomed on-site by a lovely string quartet setting the mood, only to then discover the stunning hedge-lined backdrop of the ceremony. It’s one of my favorite ceremony spaces of all time.
Villa Del Sol D’Oro Wedding Ceremony
As the ceremony began and the wedding party made their way down the aisle one by one, the excitement for Sydney’s arrival grew and grew. When it was her time, she was all smiles as she was escorted by both mom and dad to be married to her love. Their vows were the stuff of movies, and there was not a dry eye anywhere to be found. John stomped on the glass, and guests shouted “Mazel Tov!” signaling the end of their ceremony and the start of the celebration.
Cocktail Hour details included candles everywhere, florals lining the staircase leading upstairs, and a live sushi hand roll bar. And as we made our finishing touches to the reception space, our newlyweds took the last of their portraits before coming over for a sneak peek.
Villa Del Sol D’Oro Dinner Reception
Their dinner reception decor included long banquet tables with blush and ivory tones, and hints of gold. More candles and florals adorned the space, and each guest had their own personalized menu with their name on it. A loving thought and gesture included by our lovely couple. We kept the dinner program simple with some heartfelt toasts, a cake cutting and of course open dancing inside the Main Hall where guests could cut a rug but still enjoy the outside landscape nearby.
To mimic a Grand Exit, we staged the wedding party in the driveway and lit up sparklers for photos.
But the end of this reception did not signal the end of the partying for the evening. A large party bus came by to take guests to the second location of the night - a bar in Old Town Pasadena - where the party would continue till the early hours of the morning. Such a fitting end to a fun and vibrant couple’s wedding day.
